Traditionally the stepping stone to Ireland by rail and stagecoach the island is accessible via the Telford and Stephenson bridges across the Menai Strait. Being only 30 miles wide, Angleseys 125 miles of coastline is easily reached wherever you are based. Its low hills give enchanting panoramas across Mam Cymru - Mother of Wales, with its remains of Roman and Norman forts and a Celtic village.This island is now designated an area of outstanding natural beauty, typified by its historic sites, quieter style resorts and nature reserves thronging with seabirds and seals.
On the coast you can discover evidence of old shipwrecks from times before South Stack and Penmon lighthouses warned seafarers of their perils.
